Posting in a "I want everything now and I don't want to wait thread"
Maybe just maybe its not for you.. plenty of players like the game for what it is (bar some mechanics).
Maybe the 21 jumps is so you can explore and have a look around. Not all stations are the same (although I'll give you one of the Caldari stations is very prevalent). 30 min for a skill book, wait till your doing Black Ops 5 then you can cry me a river.
For a game thats doing it wrong, 9 years and going on when many others have fallen by the wayside or into obscurity isn't to bad IMHO.
etc. etc.

Because in five days you *cannot* hope to have a grasp on the game, and you are even less qualified to start asking for changes in long standing game mechanics than you are justified in voicing your dislike for them this early on.
Play the game for yourself for a few weeks. No, don't just sit holed up in station training skills you think you need. You're new, go explore already, and get to grips with the universe before you develop shut-in *Can't afford to lose x because of y* syndrome. So the guy saying after 5 days he's too frustrated to continue is the wrong one to talk about how just 5 days in, the game is already too frustrating to continue? Seems to me he's the obvious choice. There are honestly things they could do to make it easier when you start out. You enter the game with frigate 2, science 3, and certain other skills already, would it be that unheard of they added afterburners, astrometrics or whatever to streamline the starting quests? Even if the first quest was go get these skillbooks you'll need down the line, it would save time and frustration for someone trying to play the game. It's not like he's saying he can't get into a battleship in 5 days, so he's quitting, he's saying that sitting there for 30 min while training a skill you need for your current mission is frustrating when you're starting out.
You don't have to sit there waiting for training to finish ?, you can look around check stuff out. Took longer when I started and you got given less, but gasp I did other things while waiting.

You're new, go explore already, and get to grips with the universe before you develop shut-in *Can't afford to lose x because of y* syndrome. Hence a subscriber base of 300k, rather than millions. EVE is not space-WoW. EVE will never, nor should it ever be that large. There are plenty of people who like EVE the way it is. Why should EVE alienate its current member base in favor of a possible influx of new players who want to play the game with this new style? CCP tried that last summer. Didn't go so well. So you are saying that players that are willing to wait 2 to 4 days for a single skill to train, or wait hours to travel from one place to the next, would quit if they could do those things in say 5-20 minutes? And making a space based game easier to traverse is bad HOW? Microtransactions is not the same thing as good game mechanics. Microtransactions are only there to further sell to the players that are already playing... I am talking about making this game accessable to more people. Not giving more people an ability to compete by saying "PAY ME MONEY". If they are subscribing, they are already paying you money. Hence the title of this post.
There is already chat that Eve is too easy to cross, force projection etc. You should have seen it years ago when you didn't warp to 0 or have the jump option, but it gave Eve a sense of huge scale. Making travel quicker, reduces that scale.
Im happy with training as it is thanks.

EVE Online came out in 2003 when the MMO market was nearly non-existant and the gaming world was much more 'hardcore' in general. The gaming and MMO markets since then have inflated MASSIVELY and other MMO's have managed to appeal to the casual players by giving instant gratification, and drop-in drop-out content.
This cannot ever happen in EVE online, if CCP changed the game model to adapt to the current ADHD stricken casual playerbase of the modern MMO/Gaming market today, they'll completely screw over their existing customers and will have made the years that their dedicated 'hardcore' playerbase have invested completely wasted, in order to appeal to a larger casual audience.
CCP have nobly chosen to remain loyal to its playerbase so far and continue to produce content that appeals to its own 'hardcore' niche. I for one will leave this game and never look back if it gets too dulled down and the entry level is lowered too much. If I had to go through it... why shouldn't everyone else? I was a part of that hardcore market and made the same statements, as to "If I had to go through it... why shouldn't everyone else?" You and everyone know that is wrong the moment you think it. Someone gets raped... "If I had to go through it... why shouldn't everyone else?" Someone gets shot.... "If I had to go through it... why shouldn't everyone else?" etc etc etc. Its a childs argument, that I myself have made at an earlier date, but it is not an argument that holds water in the long run.
Didn't have to go through anything, did it, enjoyed it, If you don't like it, don't do it.
Anyway I know your trolling now with the **** thing .... (you can write raped but not r*pe, go figure)

Jenn aSide wrote:Torneach wrote:The arcade is down the street, take a left two blocks down. Amen Look at it from our point of view. Even with "so few" subscribers, we get loads and loads of risk averse people (we call em carebears) who would just love for eve to transform into some brainless, instant gratification themepark (EVEN despite the fact that such games, like Star Trek online, exist). "They" can't even let us have this ONE harsh, hard core, basically user unfriendly pvp-centric environment lol. Who in their right minds wnats MORE people like that? If anything, CCP should accept that eve can either be an excellent niche game with a small but positive cash flow or a mediocre themepark cash cow. BTW, eve players should embrace that ghey vamire game, if it does well, it takes the preassure off of EVE as cash maker .
F*ck off don't turn this into a rant at hi sec and those that don't like to play the game the same way you do, this is one thread where most agree what ever your gaming style.
Idiot
